Endure Ivy Silk Scarf

The ivy had found a way along the old fence.

Endure began with ivy growing over weathered timber. Against the grey boards, its progress was easy to overlook until you noticed how much ground it had covered.

The poem and artwork attend to that ordinary persistence. The scarf may speak to someone beginning again, or to someone who has simply always liked the part of the garden left to its own devices.

Not all strength is written into height,
Nor found in blooms that startle into sight.
Some choose the slower art of becoming,
A patient grace, returning, never rushing.

It winds, it holds, it does not seek to prove,
In stillness, even stone is taught to move.
It traces time in slender lines of ivy,
Unafraid of years, and blind to envy.

Wearing and choosing
