The Gulls draws on British seaside holidays: the caravan, the cry overhead, the chips that required guarding. A bird scarcely noticed for the rest of the year becomes the sound of being somewhere else.

The artwork carries that seaside memory into silk. A fold changes how much of the scene is visible; the recollection remains your own.

Wearing and choosing
