Pine keeps its depth of green. Ivy continues across walls and trees, holding its leaves while much of the landscape rests. When low winter sunlight reaches frozen ground, even the cold seems briefly gilded.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese are not simply festive colours placed upon the natural world.
